Hossein Mohammadi has entered the Tehran University in 1996 as bachelor student in surveying engineering in Iran . During two final years of his studies, he was teaching assistant of surveying courses. He completed his bachelor degree in 2001.
Then he passed MSci entrance exam and because of winning the third rank of that examination, he was exempted of military service.
Hossein commenced his Masters degree in GIS at KNT University of Technology. Meanwhile he was involved in various GIS research projects in Geodesy and Geomatics Research Centre in KNT University such as Iranian Roads Web-GIS, Power Ministry GIS, and Design and Implementation of a National Spatial Data Transfer Standard. He did his thesis on Design and Development of an Internet-Based Wireless GIS. During two final years of M.Sc., Hossein worked as a teaching assistant in the GIS department and he tutored GIS students.
He finished his Masters in February 2004, and then he started his work as GIS manager in GlobeArray (Geomatics Research and Development Inc.) in Tehran . He did take roles in various GIS projects such as: Design and Implementation of Iran Urban Planning Research Centre GIS, Design and Implementation of Gas Network GIS Software, and Development of Bank GIS.
In 2005, Hossein commenced his PhD studies in the University of Melbourne .
