Comunity Access Program (CAP)

Through the Community Access Program (CAP), the Department of Geomatics is able to offer study opportunities to anyone interested in the spatial sciences (GIS, GPS, remote sensing, web-mapping, land administration, visualisation, etc).

CAP provides an excellent opportunity if you

  • are curious about these new technologies;
  • have wanted to study but have had to postpone it for one reason or another;
  • want to advance your career;
  • want to enhance your academic record; and
  • want to explore an area of interest before making a commitment to more intensive study.

CAP students attend the same classes as degree students, at the Parkville campus, and enjoy borrowing rights at the University libraries. The assessed mode of CAP study (which applies to all these subjects) grades you on your studies and you receive an official transcript of results. Undertaking an assessed CAP subject means you are expected to attend all lectures, tutorials and practical classes, and complete all set assessment tasks, including relevant examinations.
