Research
In route communications, people use qualitative relations and landmarks to describe places, while current navigation systems can not deal with such flexible place descriptions in natural language. My research focuses on the communication between human wayfinders and navigation systems on where questions. The goal is to interpret the semantics of place descriptions from wayfinders' context for navigation systems. This research is under the supervision of Dr. Stephan Winter. This research includes an experiment.
This research is supported by the ARC Discovery Project Intelligent Self-Organizing Transport (DP0878119).
